How I Met Your Mother Series Finale

So, the series finale of How I Met Your Mother was today. I just watched it. I was disappointed.

Oh, Brittany, why were you disappointed?

Well, the entire season has been more specifically about how Ted finally meets the mother and everyone else meeting her beforehand. Along with this, the season has spent a lot of its time getting people excited and in love with Barney and Robin being married and being together. I love Barney and Robin together, and I know a lot of other people do to.  So how come in this finale, did they decide to break them up? Oh, I'll tell you. It's because it was easy... It's easy to fall back on the Ted with Robin thing. Very easy. Why? Because they've done it time and time again. Ted and Robin have had flings countless times in the series. Why not just do it again for the finale?

Except one thing... I hate Ted and Robin together. The only time I've probably liked Robin was when she was with Barney. They just kind of gloss over the fact that "Hey, the mother gets sick and dies! Let's spend a total of a minute to maybe a minute and a half on that!" I mean, there was so much more they could have done with that... What kind of sickness (probably cancer, but still)? How did it effect everyone? What happened to Ted when she finally passed? I would have been happier with a depressing episode of how the mother died after Ted had finally found the love of his life. Instead... I get How Ted Got Robin After The Mother Died.

I would have also been okay if Barney and Robin had gotten back together after their divorce when he had a kid and really changed. I think that he would have been even better for Robin and since Robin can't have kids, perfect for her because she says she doesn't want kids. But come on. She was depressed when she found out, so she obviously wanted kids on some level, and sure... she gets kids with Ted, but... they're teenagers by this point. They're not ever going to view her as mom while Barney's kid still had that chance. Sure, maybe that's not the point, but it would have been better that way.

The entire thing was just a huge disappointment. The entire time I was watching this show, I never once hoped "Ted should get Robin in the end". I really wanted him to just give on her. For real give up on her too, not just say he is.

I just really need to get this out there, because the amount of disappointment I feel is just overwhelming and needs to be vented somewhere.
